What
type or denomination of church are we?
Sharon Church is part of the Assemblies
of God. This means that Sharon Church would be considered a Protestant
Church within the Pentecostal group of churches. Pentecostal
churches account for about 6% of the Christian population in the world
and 2% of the world's population. It is the fastest growing group of
churches in the world today.

What
is the history of the Church?
The church
started around the middle of the 1930's through a family which moved
from another church in the south of Manchester to Moston. They began
meeting in the home but soon grew too large for it. They moved to an
upper room over a garage until the present building was built on Brendon
Ave in 1947. It has remained there ever since. During that time we have
sought to benefit the community. The Church is perhaps best known locally
for its work amongst children and young people over the years.
